Congratulations to our two winning authors: Christy Mak Long Ying (Hong Kong City University) for “The ‘Sweetest’ Hug” and Joelle Kidd (University of Manitoba) for “See the Sunrise.”

Thank you very much to all of our participants for sharing their exciting, funny, and moving stories.

A Hong Kong / Winnipeg Travel Writing Contest

No matter where we live, some aspects of being a tourist are universal: excitement, exhaustion, confusion, and encounters that surprise, provoke, and help us understand who we are. Students from City University of Hong Kong and the University of Manitoba are invited to share funny, thrilling, or otherwise notable travel experiences, whether real or imagined. Entries can take the form of fiction, non-fiction prose, or poetry. All entries will be posted to the contest website (http://blogs.cc.umanitoba.ca/lostluggage/entries). Two entries will win first-place prizes of $100 CAD / $1000 HKD each.
